FROM: Rod Wenzell
Thank you Joan for your descriptive update. Your assistance and help for all
of us for Linda is most appreciated.
If any of you have not gotten your contribution in the mail to Joan, please
do so ASAP. The flower arrangement was very nice and featured our class
flower -- bird of paradise. It stood next to the arrangement from the Auburn
Marching Band. I also spoke with Linda and David before the service, and
Linda expressed a
lot of gratitude for the love, prayers and concern that we have given during
this most trying of times
for her, David and family. We are fortunate to have a classmate as good and
kind as Linda... and I
feel blessed to count so many of you as valued friends, too. I also thank
Jenny for the closeness and support she has provided Linda during this time.
I was very impressed with the AU Marching Band and their attendance. Three
busloads of students who filled most of one side of the church. A featured
flutist from the AU Band played Amazing Grace at the end of the service that
was so very moving. On a lighter note, if allowed, I thought the other older
AU men were various band directors, I did not realize that the Head Football
Coach and President were there... being a Bama man myself. Still, what a
tribute for a deserving and accomplished young woman and how well all of
that speaks of Sarah and the university she chose.
